Stellantis: Brands struggling to survive have 2-3 years to save themselves

In 2021, shortly after the finalization of the merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and PSA Group, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares made a promise that Stellantis would invest in all brands for 10 years. Well, Tavares now states that the fate of the 14 Stellantis companies will be decided much sooner.

Speaking at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Tavares said decisions will be made 2 to 3 years from now. When that happens, someone else will be at the helm of Stellantis, as it was recently announced that the company is in the process of searching for a new CEO, as Tavares’ five-year contract expires in early 2026 and will not be renewed, as Portuguese businessman to retire. His successor will be announced at the end of 2025.

Tavares said all companies under the corporate umbrella are fully funded by 2026, but after that:

We’ll review each brand’s performance about two-thirds of the way through the Dare Forward 2030 plan, so expect any decisions over the next two to three years.
