Stellantis: We have no intention of selling Maserati

Stellantis has no intention of selling Maserati or merging it with other Italian luxury brands, the company said in a statement.

Stellantis reiterates its unwavering commitment to the bright future of Maserati as the only luxury brand of the 14 Stellantis brands,

the automaker said in a statement, while reiterating its commitment to its entire portfolio.

CEO Carlos Tavares warned last week that if the company’s loss-making brands “are not profitable, we will close them.”

The statements came after Stellantis reported worse-than-expected first-half results.

The company does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati, which posted an adjusted operating loss of 82 million euros for the first half of the year.

Some analysts had previously noted that Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, which the company’s chief financial officer Natalie Knight did not rule out, while other brands such as Lancia or DS could be at risk of being scrapped given the minimal their contribution to the group’s total sales.
