BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 10,871.48 points, losing 1.09 percent.
While BIST 100 index decreased by 120.09 points compared to the previous close, the total transaction volume was 97.7 billion lira.
The banking index lost 2.39 percent and the holding index lost 0.80 percent.
Among the sector indices, the biggest gainer was construction with 0.70 percent, while the biggest loser was banking.
Analysts stated that the sell-off in global stock markets, which began in the US led by technology stocks after the financial results of major technology companies failed to meet expectations during the ongoing earnings season, slowed down following the strong growth data announced in the country.
Analysts stated that tomorrow, domestic sectoral inflation expectations, US personal consumption expenditures and the University of Michigan consumer confidence index will be monitored abroad, and noted that technically, the 10,800 and 10,700 levels in the BIST 100 index are support, while 11,000 points are resistance.
