BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.03 percent increase at 11,092.63 points.
At the opening, BIST 100 index increased by 3.10 points and 0.03 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 11,092.63 points.
The banking index lost 0.15 percent and the holding index lost 0.23 percent. Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was stone and soil with 0.63 percent, while the one that lost the most was communications with 0.23 percent.
BIST 100 index, which was in a downward trend yesterday, closed the day at 11,089.53 points, decreasing by 0.74 percent compared to the previous close.
Analysts stated that global stock markets have been on a negative course following the increasing selling pressure due to the profitability of major US companies falling below expectations in their balance sheets, and that the financial results of companies have an impact on the direction of the markets during the intense balance sheet season in the US.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) kept the policy rate constant at 50 percent yesterday, while the message of “determination in the fight against inflation” was given in the policy text.
Analysts reported that today, domestic financial services confidence index, global manufacturing industry and service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data and new home sales in the US will be monitored, and noted that technically, 11,000 and 10,900 points are support in the BIST 100 index, while 11,150 and 11,250 are resistance levels.
