Stopped reconstruction of the main street in Visoko, they were surprised by the pipes under the road | Capital.ba

VISOKO – Two days after the start of work on the reconstruction of the main streets in Visoko, the machines stopped. Excavators and workers are waiting for a change in the reconstruction project because of unforeseen circumstances. The original project did not include the relocation of sewer pipes on this road.

“The works started a couple of days ago and according to what we see, they have been stopped for two days. It was only done for a day or two. The works were stopped due to the found pipes, the collision of installations under the asphalt that was raised in the first days. It happens because of lack of preparation”, he said for CAPITAL Tarik Halilović, member of the SDP in the Assembly of Visoko.

Halilović explains that alternative routes have not been prepared, and that the collapse of traffic in this city is a daily occurrence. He warns that changes to the project could bring new costs for the City, but also that it will certainly cost the citizens of Visoko time and nerves.

The biggest investment in the last 100 years

Extensive works bring problems but also solutions, he says CAPITAL the mayor of Visoko, Mirza Ganić. He adds that this is the biggest investment in the city center in the past 100 years, and it is the reconstruction of two main streets, Alija Izetbegovića and Čaršijska. The value of the contracted works, he adds, is 3.5 million KM.

Ganić explains that the part of the work related to the raising of asphalt and the replacement of underground installations, which were planned to be done, is currently stopped, due to certain collisions that were observed on the spot with the existing installations during the excavation.

“Several meetings have already been organized and the designer, in cooperation with public companies whose installations are in the trunk of the street, is solving the observed collisions. In parallel, the contractor will continue to work on other details from the project that are not in dispute. There have been no investments in the mentioned streets since their inception, so a lot of problems are to be expected, especially in the segment of underground installations, because the water supply network, the main water supply pipe under high pressure for the water supply of other settlements, the sewage network, gas installations, the BH network passes through it. Telecom, electrical network and public lighting”, explains the mayor of Visoko.

Won’t there be an increase in the price of works?

The contractor is the company “Ado Trans” from Visoko, and the supervisory body IG from Banja Luka.

“It is about a short modification of the project that will last a couple of days. The sewerage should be moved very slightly to one side,” explained Ahmet Frljak, director of “Ado Trans”.

Frljak in a statement for CAPITAL he adds that the change in the project will not increase the costs of the reconstruction of this road, and he hopes that the deadline will not be missed.

The first day of the reconstruction was marked by the removal of the old row of trees, which caused a debate among the citizens of Visoko, who complained on social media about the removal of the trees. Some of them believe that it is a good decision if a new row of trees is going to be planted. However, most agree that it would be good to show the project of the final appearance of this street to the citizens.
