Sometimes it can be really difficult to say goodbye to certain fictional characters. Know that the time will soon come to part ways with Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Max and the others, during a season 5 of Stranger Things highly anticipated.
While information is scarce on the subject, since the broadcast of the formidable season 4, in May 2022, Netflix has finally announced excellent news to its fans. We now know when Stranger Things will make its comeback, but also its farewell tour, at the end of a final season 5.
When is season 5 coming out? Stranger Things ?
It is thanks to a short videopublished on November 6, 2024, that the streaming giant has finally revealed crucial information: season 5 of Stranger Things will be available on Netflix in 2025. No more precise date has yet been disclosed, but previous seasons have always been broadcast between May and October. We can bet on a similar niche for this season 5.
When is season 5 of Stranger Things and streaming on Netflix ?
In a tweet as well as in the video shared on the networksNetflix specified that this final adventure would take place in the fall of 1987, four years after the debut of the series, set in 1983 in season 1, and more than a year after season 4, which took place in the spring 1986. The date chosen to share this short teaser is not insignificant: November 6, 1983 is thus the precise day of Will’s disappearance, in the universe of the series.
How many episodes are planned?
The first teaser unveiled by Netflix gives us valuable information concerning the titles of the 8 episodes planned for this season 5. Here are their names:
- Episode 1: Rescue Mission (The Crawl and VO)
- Episode 2: The Disappearance of… (The Vanishing of in VO). This is a nod to the very first episode of season 1 of the series, called The Disappearance of Will Byers. We still don’t know who the next victim will be since the name was deliberately blurred in the video shared by Netflix, but fans are already imagining that it could be Holly Wheeler, the younger sister of Mike and Nancy.
- Episode 3: The Trap (The Turnbow Trap in VO). In an Instagram post shared on March 15, 2024 by Ross Duffer, the co-creator of the series, we can see an advertisement for a fake construction company named Turnbow. So this could be related to the title of the episode.
- Episode 4: Witchcraft (Sorcerer and VO)
- Episode 5: Shock Plan (Shock Jock and VO)
- Episode 6: Escape from Camazotz (Escape from Camazotz and VO)
- Episode 7: The Bridge (The Bridge and VO)
- Episode 8: The World Right Side Up (The Rightside Up and VO)
The final episode of the series, which will therefore be named The World Right Side Upin opposition to the Upside Down represented in Stranger Thingsrather takes on the air of happy end for our favorite characters, who could finally put everything back in order in their respective lives.
The production, however, has accustomed us to moving scenes, notably with Max and Eddie in season 4, so it is not guaranteed that all the protagonists will emerge alive from this last adventure in Hawkins.

We still don’t know if Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie in season 4, will return, given the tragic fate of his character. On the other hand, Netflix announced that the great Linda Hamilton, who plays Sarah Connor in the saga Terminatorwill make its grand entrance into the world of Stranger Thingsfor this season 5.
What will the new and final season of Stranger Things ?
Little information has been revealed on the plot of these final episodes, but following the events of season 4, which led to Vecna’s victory, we can easily bet on an epic clash between Hawkins’ gang and the major antagonist of the series.
The city having been partially destroyed, the characters will also need to be able to rebuild this emblematic place (or not) to move forward. Max, for her part, was saved at the last minute from death in season 4 of Stranger Thingsthanks to the intervention of Eleven, who plunged her into a deep coma: will she live in season 5 or will she end up dying from her injuries?
As for the duration of this season 5, actress Maya Hawke, who plays Robin in the series, said during the Podcrushed podcast that these final 8 episodes were thought of as 8 films and would be very long. A bias far from surprising, considering that season 4 already offered chapters of almost two hours.
A season 6 of the series Stranger Things is it planned on Netflix?
Unfortunately, no. We will therefore have to say goodbye to Mike, Eleven, Max, Lucas, Dustin and the others at the end of season 5 of Stranger Things.
