Almost 3,500 university professors have supported the student protests in Serbia and their demands in a public letter until Tuesday evening.
On the Internet address, where professors can sign a public letter, the number of signatories was exactly 3,497 last night around 10:30 p.m.
“Dear citizens of Serbia, we, the teachers, associates and researchers of universities throughout Serbia, firmly stand by our students in the common fight for a better society,” said the professors.
They strongly condemned every attempt by the authorities to intimidate students by publicly sharing their private data, spreading falsehoods about them, as well as sending police officers and agents of the Security-Information Agency to their addresses and the addresses of their parents.
“Hereby, we again appeal to the competent authorities to conscientiously and responsibly perform their work,” the professors said.
