Students have already taken 35,270 tests in the second phase of national exams – Society

More than 35,200 tests were carried out on Thursday and Friday, relating to the second phase of the national exams, for which 38,613 registrations were registered, according to data from the National Examinations Jury (JNE), released this Saturday by the Ministry of Education.

According to JNE data, released by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, in the first week of the second phase of the national final exams, 15,200 exams were carried out on Thursday and 20,070 on Friday.

There were 16,418 student registrations for the exams held on Thursday and 22,195 registrations were registered for those held on Friday.

The second phase of exams began on Thursday, with 11,918 students (out of 12,767 registered) taking the Physics and Chemistry A exam, 118 (out of 134) taking the Portuguese Literature exam, 3,163 (out of 3,516 registered students) taking the Economics A exam and a single registered student taking the Latin A exam.

On Friday, the final exams were held for various Portuguese codes (relating to exams in Portuguese as a first language, Portuguese for students with educational needs, Portuguese as a second language and Portuguese as a non-native language), with a total of 17,384 registered, and 15,651 students attended.

On this day, Geography A tests were also held, attended by 3,363 students (285 were absent), and History of Culture and Arts, attended by 1,050 students (110 were absent).

The Mathematics A, Mathematics B, Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences and Philosophy exams, relating to the second phase, will also take place on Monday.

On Tuesday, the exams for History A and B, Descriptive Geometry A, Drawing A and Biology and Geology will take place.

The second phase of national exams ends on Wednesday with tests in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Mandarin.

The first phase of national exams had 291,793 registrations and 236,060 tests were carried out, according to data from the National Examination Jury.

The results of this first phase were released on Monday and the grades rose in 13 of the 25 subjects subject to examination. Only in Biology and Geology (9.9 points), the most competitive test, was the average negative.

Compared to last year, the average also dropped in Portuguese (from 12.5 to 11.1 points), but student results improved in Physics and Chemistry (11.6 points) and Mathematics A (12.2 points).

This year, 12th grade students still benefited from the exceptional rules implemented following the Covid-19 pandemic, but 11th grade students already had to take the necessary tests to pass and complete their subjects.
