Disney’s “Waiana 2” is coming: Students will make her ship from recycled materials

On Sunday, November 17, in the Delta City Shopping Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the workshop “On the wave of creativity with Vajana” will be held, during which design school students, professors and passers-by will make a board similar to the one is Disney’s Vaiana ship.

When she appeared on the big screen a few years ago, the brave Disney heroine “Waiana” attracted a lot of attention from the audience who wanted to watch the exciting original animation about a Polynesian woman who fearlessly sails the distant seas. After eight years, from the popular studio comes the continuation of the story that will will be in cinemas from November 27, and sailing on a famous ship is still a challenge faced by a black-haired, fearless girl.

Encouraged by Vajana’s original struggle to protect the island she lives on, as well as the people to whom she is very attached, the students of the renowned School of Design designed, together with the MCF distributor house, an interactive-demonstration workshop “On the wave of creativity with Vajana”, during which they will use recycled materials to build a ship similar to the one used by the heroine from the animation. The process of assembling the ship will begin on Sunday, November 17, from 11 a.m. in the Delta City Shopping Center, and during the construction, a variety of materials will be used, including recyclable ones such as bottles, PET packaging, cardboard and paper.

In addition to the expert students of the design school, during the day the construction can also be joined by free passers-by, who will contribute to the construction of the ship with additional used bottles, which will be used as material for the vessel itself. The aim of the workshop is to use a creative endeavor to point out the importance of preserving the environment and the community, as well as the importance of ecology.

When is Vayana?

Vajana remains a tenacious young woman who encounters danger as she travels across the ocean, Enthusiastic and dedicated, Vajana continues to explore her origins to find out who she is and where she comes from. Her connection with the sea is extremely strong, and the new mission encourages her to gather inner strength, which she was not even aware she possessed.
