Subaru Solterra MY24: how the electric SUV changes, news, price

Launched in 2021 as the brand’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Subaru Solterra marked a turning point for the company, integrating the tradition of safe driving and pleasant with the electric technology. Two years after its debut on the European and Italian markets, Subaru renews the model with the Single MY24introducing significant innovations that improve the driving experience, comfort and safety.

The Solterra MY24 is equipped with a new steering wheel with a square designdesigned to optimize dashboard visibility and improve grip, offering a more comfortable driving experience. The heating system has been enhanced to ensure widespread and more homogeneous heat, improving efficiency on cold days. In addition, a new sensor on the steering wheel detects the presence of the driver’s hands, increasing comfort while driving.

Il Multi-Information Display has been updated to make information more readable, such as the activation of the brake lights when braking or when releasing the accelerator in S-PEDAL modeThe paddle shifters, already present in the previous model, have been improved to allow the selection of S-PEDAL mode without having to take your hands off the steering wheel, also optimising regenerative braking thanks to revised deceleration levels.

To improve charging performance, Solterra MY24 introduces a new battery heating system. Thanks to a heat exchanger, DC charging times at low temperatures have been reduced, making charging faster even in adverse weather conditions. An 11 kW three-phase charger has also been added, alongside the 7 kW single-phase one, significantly reducing AC charging times: around 3 hours are enough to charge 50% of the battery.

Among the innovations dedicated to the comfort of the occupants, the Front passenger seat is now 8-way adjustableoffering greater customization than the previous 4. Also on the safety front, Subaru Solterra MY24 takes a significant step forward with the transition from the Subaru Safety Sense 2 system to the Subaru Safety Sense 3which introduces new hardware elements and software improvements, raising the level of protection offered.

The new front radar system integrates the other safety systems already present, increasing the available functions. TheEmergency Steering Assist with Active Support (ESA with Active Support) assists the driver in emergency steering manoeuvres, trying to avoid obstacles without invading the oncoming lane, recognising pedestrians, cyclists, stationary vehicles and motorcyclists.

Other innovative features include the Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), which warns the driver of approaching vehicles from the side and perpendicularly, and the Lane Change Assist (LCA), which supports safe lane changes. The Flashing Hazard Lamp (FHL) activates the hazard lights to warn of imminent danger, while the system Secondary Collision Braking (SCB) intervenes by activating the brakes to avoid further collisions after a rear-end collision.

Finally, Subaru Italy has repositioned the price of the Solterra MY24 to make it more competitive: the entry level version is offered at €49,900offering a valid alternative between electric vehicles and traditional engines such as the Outback model. The new Solterra It thus represents an excellent choice for those looking for an innovative, safe and environmentally friendly vehicle, without giving up the driving philosophy that distinguishes Subaru.
