On October 1, 2024, Maximilian Blanck and Marie-Kathrin Huber joined the management of the Straubenhardt-based company. You succeed Friedhelm Sommer, the co-founder and long-time managing director, who is entering his well-deserved retirement. In the partner company Sommer-Technik, Maximilian Blanck was appointed as additional managing director and Cedrik Haenel as authorized signatory alongside Bernd Heise, also on October 1st. 2024.

As children of Rainer Blanck, the co-founder and CEO of Sommer cable, both have had a direct connection to the company since childhood. During his studies, Maximilian developed the SYSBOXX configurator, which is valued by customers. Since October 2023, he has supported Sommer cable’s management, sales and product management as well as IT management and was jointly responsible for the company’s new online shop presence. Thanks to his master’s degree in information economics at KIT in Karlsruhe and his experience at an IT project house, he brings with him valuable talents and knowledge that will excellently equip Sommer cable for future challenges, especially in the digital sector. He is very familiar with terms such as machine learning, AI and IoT.
Marie-Kathrin Huber (née Blanck) also joined the company in August 2023. Thanks to her international studies (MA) and her many years of experience in the cultural sector, she brings both a lot of creativity and strong organizational talent. These skills form an ideal basis for your activities in management, the HR department as well as in marketing and sales, especially in the areas of digital and social media.
“The addition of the two to the management underlines the continuity, foresight and family tradition that have characterized the company since its founding,” says owner Rainer Blanck, who will remain CEO. The two authorized representatives Andreas Bauer and Pascal Miguet will also remain.

Friedhelm Sommer, who founded the company together with Rainer Blanck over 25 years ago, looks back on a successful company history. Under the leadership of the two managing directors, Sommer cable has developed from a small company into an internationally recognized medium-sized company that is known for its quality and innovative ability. The company celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Here’s to the next few years and a new generation with “Simply good vibes.”
