Surprising information about upcoming AMD and Nvidia GPUs revealed ahead of launch

Recently, some members of the X platform noticed some interesting information “accidentally” revealed by Seasonic about the new graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD. Information “leaked” online disappeared as quickly as it appeared, but not before vigilant users posted it to their accounts.

The leaks are related to the design thermal power of the AMD Radeon RX 7000 series video cards and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 range.

Would it be AMD Radeon RX 7000?

According to the leaks, AMD will soon release new video cards from the Radeon RX 7000 series. The most interesting ones are announced to be the RX 7950 XT, 7950 XTX and 7990 XTX. Their TDP is not yet known. What is known, however, is the design thermal power for the RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT: 355W and 300W respectively.

According to Seasonic, the RDNA 3 series will receive a significant update with improved specifications. The AMD Radeon RX 7000 RDNA 3 refresh is expected to include faster memory and higher clock speeds, as well as increased power ratings.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 Series

On the other hand, it looks like the RTX 5090 will have a TDP of 500W, 50W more than the RTX 4090, and more powerful power and cooling solutions. However, it will offer superior performance to other past models.

The RTX 5080 will have a TDP of 350W, which makes it very attractive for gamers. The RTX 5070 and 5060 models will have TDPs of 220W and 170W, respectively. And they will require efficient cooling solutions. However, they promise improved performance in both creative applications and games. The RTX 5060 is expected to return to the 12GB VRAM standard. The RTX 5050 will be the budget variant and will have a TDP of 100W.

Availability

Nvidia is expected to start releasing its Blackwell architecture graphics cards in October this year. The flagship RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will lead the way. The RTX 5070 is expected to launch in January 2025. The general-purpose RTX 5060 could also be released then, but in Q3 or Q4.
