Suzuki and Vitara: the characteristics of Suzuki’s first electric

Suzuki marks an important step forward with the launch of its first electric car, the Suzuki Vitaraan SUV derived from the eVX concept, presented during an event in Milan. This model represents a crucial point in the strategy of the Japanese company, which aims to consolidate its presence in the zero emission vehicle market. Production of the e Vitara will begin in spring of 2025 in Indiain the factory Suzuki Motor Gujaratwith sales expected in the summer of the same year in Europe, India and Japan.

Robust design and advanced technology

The design of the new e Vitara is inspired by the eVX concept, but features more traditional lines. The front is distinguished by the headlights with Y-shaped luminous firmconnected by a black insert with the Suzuki logo in the center. The grille, naturally closed in the absence of an internal combustion engine, adds a compact and clean appearance. With a length of 4.275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm and a height of 1,635 mm, the SUV offers a comfortable ride also thanks to a ground clearance of 180 mm, ideal for tackling challenging routes. Depending on the version, it will be possible to choose 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the e Vitara they show a technological and intuitive approach. Suzuki has provided a two-spoke steering wheel with a display digital for the instruments and a large infotainment screen, which allows you to manage the main functions of the car. There is no shortage of physical buttons for quick management of settings.

Engines and performance

Suzuki will offer the e Vitara in different engine configurations. The basic version is equipped with a single 106 kW electric motor (189 Nm of torque) powered by a 49 kWh battery, with front-wheel drive. For those looking for greater performance, a variant with a 128 kW engine and 61 kWh battery is available, again with front-wheel drive.

The top of the range features a dual motor system, with a combined power of 138 kW and 300 Nm at speedguaranteeing all-wheel drive thanks to a configuration that includes a 128 kW engine on the front axle and a 48 kW one on the rear. This version, equipped with a 61 kWh batteryshould offer a range of around 400 km.

All-wheel drive and driving modes

The e Vitara is equipped with the ALLGRIP-e systeman evolution of Suzuki’s 4×4 technologies. This system, supported by two independent eAxles on the front and rear axles, is perfect for those looking for off-road performance. It includes a “Trail” mode that allows you to easily overcome difficult terrain: if one wheel loses grip, torque is automatically transferred to the opposite one, ensuring constant traction.

The electric SUV delivers three driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport, and a “one pedal” mode for driving with just one pedal, reducing brake use in everyday situations.
