Suzuki’s global sales in the first and second quarters of 2024 saw growth, so much so that the manufacturer had to adjust estimates for annual performance.
Suzuki sold 523,000 motorcycles in the first and 499,000 in the second quarter of this yearwhich represents significant growth compared to 479,000 and 494,000 units sold in the same periods in 2023. If the trend continues, Suzuki can expect a 4.5% increase in revenue, a 10.9% increase in profit, and an overall increase in global motorcycle sales of 4.9%.
The manufacturer’s annual sales have been steadily increasing since 2020, i.e. corona virus pandemic. That year, Suzuki sold 1,535,000 motorcycles, followed by 1,634,000 in 2021, 1,859,000 in 2022 and 1,912,000 in 2023. Considering the current performance, Suzuki could end the year 2024 with record sales of over 2 million motorcycles.
If we break that performance down by region, we see that Asia continues to perform best, with sales of 1,225,000 in 2020-2023. The Asian countries that recorded the highest sales in the same period were India with 557,000 units, China (374,000) and the Philippines (136,000). Other Asian countries contributed a total of 158,000 motorcycles sold.
Suzuki hopes that the new Suzuki V-Strom 250SX will further strengthen sales, but in the overall market position.
