In Milan, the public was able to see the Suzuki e-Vita for the first time, the series production of which will start in 2025.
Although Suzuki has previously been present in various markets with electric cars, the e-Vitara will be the first to be distributed globally. The purely electric model that debuted in Milan was based on the 2023 Indian Auto Expo and then also flashed at the 2024 Japan Mobility Exhibition. eVX concept serves and is based on Suzuki’s new purely electric platform.
It will come in two versions, we can choose a front-wheel drive model with a battery capacity of 49 or 61 kWh, as well as an all-wheel drive version with a 61 kWh battery and two independent engines with a total power of 135 kW.
The production of the SUV competing with the electric versions of the Peugeot 2008 and the Hyundai Kona will begin in the spring of 2025 in India at the Suzuki Motor Corporation plant in Gujarat, and the first examples are expected to arrive in the target markets during the summer, which for now means India, Japan and Europe, so we will also meet in Hungary then with them. As for the price, it has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer, but we can be sure that the amount will be higher than what Vitara can currently be bought for (HUF 7.8-11.9 million).
