sweaters that live

Live Sweaters, a young Czech brand of premium clothing made of merino wool, is gaining more and more popularity. Customers especially appreciate the quality of workmanship, practicality and original design.

Sweaters knitted in Beautiful Linden they are suitable both in society and in nature, and their advantage is that they are antibacterial, do not absorb odors, repel dust and can warm in winter, while cooling in summer.

brand founder, Michal Richtersuccinctly describes the main benefits: “Merino wool is a natural functional material that, by breathing, warms in winter and cools in summer. Another plus is that it does not absorb odors, so it does not need to be washed as often. Still, even after several washes, it looks like new. In short, you don’t buy a merino wool sweater for one season, but for several years. It is a wool that can be worn in summer as well as in winter, and that is its biggest advantage.”

Design a business casual

You can currently find two lines of men’s sweaters under the Live Sweaters brand – Design and business casual. Designer sweaters with illustrations were designed especially for creative people – artists, musicians, architects. For those who like uniqueness and quality and appreciate the added value of the design on the sweater. The Business casual collection is designed to be worn to the office or to a meeting and includes vests and sweaters. They are recognizable at first glance thanks to the colored trim and are an ideal choice for wearing over a shirt or under a jacket.

The company Live Sweaters is also about to penetrate i to the women’s market and proposals for women’s business sweaters are already emerging. However, women are already among the customers: “We have experience that ladies also like to buy a men’s designer sweater, which they wear as an “oversize” adds Richter. An interesting alternative can also be the option to have a sweater tailored.

Original design

There is always a story or motif behind the initial idea, which Michal tries to transfer to the sweater with the help of an illustrator. An illustrator must create digital bitmap graphics. The entire image is a bitmap that has a resolution of several points (approx. 400 to 600 points). Here he alternates only two colors. The graphic on the sweater is always adapted to the size of the sweater. He collaborates with talented Czech designers on individual series.

Golf

The excellent properties of merino wool clothing are perfect for demanding people, and that’s how the golf collection was created, or brand new Czech golf brand TMG, which, in addition to Michal Richter, is also supported by Tomáš Pospíšil. He is an avid golfer, designer and tailor. Both brands make sweaters, vests and polo shirts from 100% extra fine merino wool.

“For this year’s golf season, we have prepared a collection of exclusive knitted vests and sweaters, and customers can also look forward to new products that we will launch in the summer,” Richter adds enthusiastically.

The story of the brand

It all started on vacation in America. In a store in San Francisco, Michal Richter bought a colorful sweater that appealed to him at first sight. After returning to Prague, he attracted a lot of attention from friends and strangers. So he started looking for a similar style. However, nothing similar could be found in Czech stores. This first brought him to the idea of making such a sweater himself. And so he continued with the first attempts and months of searching for quality material. The result is the unique Czech brand Live Sweaters, which Michal Richter is behind.

What is merino?

Merino sheep wool comes from mountain sheep originally living in Spain. From there, they gradually spread throughout the world. Merino sheep live in extreme temperature conditions and their fleece has adapted to them perfectly. Currently, they are most often bred in Australia and New Zealand. It has to endure extreme cold during the night and extreme heat during the day (-20 °C to +35 °C), and it is often exposed to a humid environment. However, wool can still keep the sheep at the same temperature.

“This means that the wool fiber reacts to the body temperature and can warm in winter and cool in summer. Thanks to this, it meets the highest demands for functionality”. says Michal Richter. Individual wool fibers are very thin. The thickness is measured in micrometers and according to the diameter it is divided into coarse, medium, fine, extra fine and ultra fine wool.
“We use extra fine grade wool for our sweaters”, adds the young entrepreneur.

The constant elasticity of the fiber allows for comfortable movement, and the sweater does not tend to pull out at the same time. It looks the same for a long time and does not wear off. Clothing made of merino wool is highly hydrophilic (they have a high absorption capacity), it is able to wick sweat away from the body so that you do not feel cold moisture. Another important factor is the antibacterial and antiallergic ability of wool. The fibers tend not to absorb odors and naturally repel dust and dirt.

Wool does not melt or burn and provides high protection against UV radiation. In addition, this soft material is very pleasant to the body, so the customer does not have to worry about something “biting” him. The maintenance of these sweaters is also very easy. They can be washed in the washing machine at 30° on the wool program (maximum 500 revolutions). The production of Merino wool is environmentally friendly, biodegradable and comes from renewable sources.
