Synchronized work to achieve full integration of the traffic network into the EU network

The Ministry of Transport and the Transport Community will work in sync to achieve full integration of the transport network into the network of the European Union, based on the highest standards in the field of transport.

This was announced during today’s meeting between the Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, and the Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Union, Matej Zakonjšek. They discussed the already initiated, joint activities of the Ministry of Transport and the Transport Community, the Ministry of Transport announced.

The joint conclusion is that by strengthening the capacity through continuous upgrading through the exchange of experiences and best practices, and by applying certain technical types of support, we can contribute to the strengthening of one of the most important sectors of the state and region, the press release added.

“In the focus of joint work on the implementation of transport projects of strategic importance for the Western Balkan region, especially in the part of reducing waiting times at border crossings in order to circulate people and goods as quickly as possible, and work on increasing the level of safety in traffic, reforming railway systems, as well as harmonizing transport policies with the policy of the European Union, Montenegro achieves a good cooperation with the Transport Community,” announced Minister Vukićević.

Director Zakonjšek used the visit of the transport ministers to issue a timely invitation for the next meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Transport Community, which will be held on December 17 in Belgrade.
