Tablets equipped with MediaTek processors instead of Qualcomm?

The Galaxy Tab S10 series was not discussed at all at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10. Samsung fans expected to see new models in this range, but it seems that the South Korean giant is delaying the release of tablets until the fall or even next year. Meanwhile, we have an interesting rumor about the processors these could be equipped with.

Samsung may ditch Qualcomm processors in favor of MediaTek chipsets. All models in the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 series could work with Dimensity 9300+. At least that’s according to Ice Universe, a popular rumor on X. It would be the first time in seven years that a Galaxy tablet would be equipped with a chipset from another company. This change would make sense, though, because Qualcomm has been raising CPU prices a lot in recent years.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300+: Powerful enough for the Galaxy Tab S10 series?

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra recently appeared on Geekbench with what is believed to be Dimensity 9300+. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the Tab S9, the performance of this chipset was slightly better. The launch of Tab S10 series devices could come with even better results.

The Dimensity 9300+ is a 4nm chip with 8 high-performance cores and an impressive GPU. It includes one Cortex-X4 core with a frequency of 3.4GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores running at 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 2GHz.

The ARM Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU means a 120 Hz refresh rate for a 4K screen, but also support for HDR games. According to the tests, the GPU would be much more powerful compared to what the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers.

Connectivity options for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10

Dimensity 9300+ includes Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, 5G, a USB Type-C port and Wi-Fi 7. It also has GLONASS and NavIC. The chip is compatible with UFS 4.0 storage, but also with LPDDR5X LPDDR5X/LPDDR5T RAM memory. The image signal processor supports camera sensors up to 320 MP. It can record videos at 8K and 4K at 30 fps and 60 fps respectively.

If we take all these features in a row, then the models in the Galaxy Tab S10 range could be very good choices for multitasking and tablet gaming enthusiasts.
