Take a peek at unique and old cars at Honda Culture Indonesia

DAPURPACUID – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has succeeded in combining various Honda car owners and communities in Jakarta in one venue, through the Honda Culture Indonesia event.

First held in Jakarta, precisely at Cibis Park, last Saturday (19/10), this event is the biggest celebration of automotive culture for the Honda community in Indonesia.

In total, this inaugural event was attended by no less than 28 Honda communities across generations and models, and was also open to the general public to see firsthand the diversity of Honda cars from time to time.

Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM, Yusak Billy said, this event is not just a meeting of Honda car owners, it is also a celebration of the emotional relationship between the owner and his vehicle.

“A car is not only a means of transportation, it is also a symbol of pride and emotional closeness. “Our philosophy is to create vehicles that can provide meaningful experiences for their owners,” he explained during a press conference in Jakarta.

On the other hand, Billy highlighted, the Honda community in Indonesia has developed organically for more than 76 years. Owners have unique characteristics, where they feel proud and attached to their vehicles.

“Honda Culture Indonesia was held to give appreciation to these communities, who have taken care of their cars from time to time, even for decades,” he added.

Meanwhile, Communication Strategy Sub-Div Head PT HPM, Yulian Karfili said, his party continues to support initiatives from the automotive community, one of which is through the Honda Culture Indonesia event.

According to Yulian, Honda sees the relationship between the owner and the car as part of a family. It is not just a vehicle, but something that has emotional value for its owner.

“It is hoped that this event will become a regular event every year, where Honda car lovers in Indonesia can gather and celebrate their love for this brand,” he said.

In this event there are various interesting activities such as modification competitions, legendary Honda car exhibitions, entertainment shows, and other exciting activities.

Apart from that, various Honda models across generations were also displayed which were exhibited in several different areas, such as the Heritage Display Area, Rare Display Area and Extreme Modification Display Area.

Heritage Display Area

In this area, the Honda Civic CVCC Coupe was presented, which was a product launched in 1979 and became an important model by introducing CVCC (Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion) engine technology.

This 1,500 cc engine produces around 55 hp, which is designed to provide the best performance while being fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. So Honda won an award from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in the United States

Also present was the Honda Life, which was first introduced to the world in 1971. This car is equipped with a small capacity engine of 356 cc, which produces power in the range of 30-36 hp.

The presence of Honda Life is one of the pioneers in the kei car segment, strengthening Honda’s position in the small car market and helping to increase domestic sales.

This model has several variants, including the Life Step Van, which is one of the first compact family cars with ample cargo space. Its successor lives on in its newest models.

Next there was the second generation Honda Civic, which was launched in 1983. This car was equipped with a more modern design designed with a focus on comfort and functionality.

The cabin space is quite roomy for a compact car in its era with ergonomic seats. There are two engine options available, namely 1.3 liter and 1.5 liter four cylinders with power from 55 hp to 67 hp.

The last model in this area is the 1982 Honda City which was equipped with a turbo with 66 hp. This car has a sleek design offering agile performance and impressive power.

This first generation Honda City is also often referred to as the City Motocompo, because it was sold at the same time as the legendary Honda scooter with a 50 cc engine.

Rare Display Area

Moving on to another point, there is the Rare Display Area, which contains cars and motorbikes that were classified as exotic in their time, including the Honda S800 which was released in 1964.

Carrying a 791 cc 4 cylinder engine capable of producing 70 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. For Honda, the S800 was a model with extraordinary performance for a small car of its time.

With a coupe body option, the S800 is known for its sporty and lightweight design supported by a rear-wheel drive system. This car is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 160 km/hour, and is claimed to be a sports car that was very popular in the 1960s.

No less interesting is the Honda NSX, an iconic sports car that combines high performance with reliability and innovative technology. This car was first introduced in 1990.

Powered by a 3.0L V6 engine with VTEC technology, the NSX was capable of producing an output of around 270 hp, making it one of the most advanced sports cars of its time.

This car was designed with input from legendary Formula One (F1) racer Ayrton Senna, who helped perfect the handling and stability sectors of the NSX.

The aerodynamic body design, using aluminum material, makes it light and powerful with responsive acceleration and extraordinary performance.

Another car is the Honda CR-X, a compact hatchback with the advantages of its light weight and agile handling, making it very popular among car fans.

Apart from being supported by strong performance, the CR-X is claimed to be fuel efficient, especially in the HF (High Fuel Economy) variant, with a consumption of up to 21.3 km/liter.

In this area, two legendary motorbikes are also presented, namely the CB 400 K0, an iconic classic model in Honda history which was launched in 1975, with an engine capacity of 397 cc.

There is also the Honda CB 750 K0, an iconic motorbike that pioneered the superbike category which was born in 1969. Powered by an inline four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 736 cc, producing a maximum power of around 68 hp.

This motorbike has an elegant design equipped with innovative features, such as a front disc brake system which was first applied to a mass production motorbike, as well as a sturdy and stable frame.

The CB750 K0 is also known for its driving comfort, thanks to its ergonomic riding position including the best suspension system.

Extreme Modification Area

This area displays various cars with unique modifications and is of course interesting for visitors. Honda S2000 Time Attack, which is designed for the race track by combining various high-tech components.

Its high performance is supported by the Voltex Circuit Version Aero Kit, Voltex Carbon Wing, as well as panels made from Carbon Composite on the hardtop, hood, rear trunk, side doors and Craft Square Carbon rearview mirror.

All these changes are designed to reduce weight and increase stability. Equipped with ADVAN GT rims and ADVAN A050 tires, as well as ZEAL Coilover Shock suspension to improve handling in corners.

The braking system has also been improved by installing an Endless Big Brake Kit for maximum stopping power, as well as optimized suspension control with the Ikeya Formula Control Arm.

This modification is supported by a reinforced chassis to withstand extreme pressure on the track. In the engine sector, a rebuilt F20C type is embedded, plus a Garrett Turbocharger for extra power, plus a Dry Sump Oil System lubrication system to maintain oil stability in racing conditions.

With the TURBOSMART Raceport Blow Off Valve for fast engine response and the Holinger Sequential Gearbox transmission for fast and precise gear shifts, car performance can be monitored via the MOTEC Dash Logger to provide accurate information during the race.

The Honda Brio Modification also appeared which received changes to the driving force created by Engine+ Motorsports. Combined with a 2.4 L K24 inline-four engine, namely the engine from the Civic Type R, producing 300 hp of power, and a six-speed manual transmission.

Other changes include handling aspects by installing two-way adjustable coilovers, AP Racing front brakes, and Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA tires combined with Aragosta suspension. In the interior there is a Momo Type R steering wheel, Recaro seats, Scroth seat belts and a roll cage.

There is also the Honda Civic Estilo Modification by Toba Blaze and the Civic EG Collaboration with Hot Wheels, which previously appeared on several occasions. (dpid/TH)
