In May, we informed you that Apple had introduced Tap to Pay in Canada. However, now quite unexpectedly, this service has also appeared in five additional countries.
We are talking about Austria, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden and Romania.
Currently, only Adyen, SumUp and Viva.com offer integration with the Apple solution in all five countries. However, other entities vary depending on the country. Detailed information is available found on the Apple website.
Tap and Pay allows you to accept contactless payments via iPhone. It is worth noting here that iPhone owners (initially sellers) can accept payments made both via Apple Pay and other digital wallets, as well as via physical payment cards with an active contactless payment option – American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa. The entire transaction is carried out using NFC technology.
The oldest device that will be compatible with this option will be the iPhone XS.
This solution is already available in 17 countries.
