Taraba negotiated with Salvini on migration and the European Green Deal – World – News

During the first day of his visit to Italy, Slovak Minister of the Environment Tomáš Taraba met with the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, whom he praised for his approach to protecting European borders from illegal migrants. They also agreed on the coordinated procedure of Slovakia and Italy in the review of obligations under the European Green Agreement. At the same time, he invited Salvini to Slovakia, the communication department of the Slovak Ministry of the Environment informed.

Cooperation between the Slovak Republic and Italy is supposed to concern environmental regulations, which, according to the ministry, are destroying Europe’s competitiveness. “In this area, we agreed that our countries will not only exchange information very closely, but also coordinate their procedures on EU soil,” said Taraba.

During the first day of his visit to Italy, Taraba also met with representatives of the state company Sogesid, which specializes in the removal of environmental burdens.

During his visit to Italy, the Slovak minister will also hold talks with the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilbert Pichetto Fratin, in order to jointly negotiate the preparation of an agreement on cooperation in the field of removing environmental burdens.

“Italy has made enormous progress in this area over the past period, and we will want to use their experience in removing ecological burdens here in Slovakia,” added Taraba.
