The special task force committee has fined 12 companies 26,500 taka for not having a price list and failing to display receipts of purchased products in Chittagong city.
Today Tuesday (October 22) from 4 pm to 6 pm market surveillance activities were conducted in Bandartila Bazar, EPZ Thana and Steelmill Bazar, Patenga Thana areas of the city. Student representatives, land office employees were also present. The policemen of the respective police stations were present.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zimran Mohammad Sayek of Patenga Circle of Chittagong city conducted the operation.
He said that due to lack of price list and failure to show the receipt of purchased products, 12 people were fined a total of 26 thousand 500 taka in 12 cases under various sections of Consumer Rights Act, 2009 and Agricultural Marketing Act, 2018.
