The part of the city where the drone crashed is close to the American diplomatic mission. This is a very densely populated area, a high-security zone, the channel notes. If it is confirmed that the drone belongs to the Houthis and has passed through Israeli radar systems undetected, “many people in Israel will be concerned about what this means,” the channel’s correspondent reports. He added that people are wondering: “How could this happen at a time when the country is on high alert?”

The drone attack on Tel Aviv is the first episode of an upcoming escalation of Houthi military operations against Israeli cities, a member of the Yemen-based group’s political bureau said. Hazam al-Assad told Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen news agency that Israel should exercise caution “in all cities” because “what is coming will be more terrible for the enemy as long as the aggression against Gaza continues.” The rebel spokesman said the Houthis “have entered a new strategic phase of operations against the enemy,” adding that they are “integrating with the forces of the resistance fronts in Lebanon, Iraq and occupied Palestine.”
The Houthis said they carried out the attack on Tel Aviv that killed one person using a new, undetectable drone. The Times of Israel reported that the drone crashed into an apartment in a Tel Aviv residential building. Meanwhile, opposition members of the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) pointed to the deadly drone attack in Tel Aviv as “proof of the government’s failure.”
Opposition leader Yair Lapid said the deadly overnight drone attack on Tel Aviv “is further proof that this government is incapable of providing security to the citizens of Israel.” Lapid accused the government of having “no policy, no plan – it’s all PR and talking about itself.”
