Ten NATO member states signed an agreement of good intentions, according to which they will start looking for ways to jointly acquire sea mines.
“This is a very good way to deter an aggressor,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said about sea mines, whose initiative led to the agreement, the Danish publication Borsen reported.
On the Estonian side, the agreement was signed by Magnus-Valdemar Saar, Director General of the National Defense Investment Center. In addition to Germany and Estonia, the agreement has the signatures of representatives of Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania and Belgium.
