The accident involving a truck and a Hungarian bus occurred on Monday morning on the highway towards Kútov in the area of the Závod rest area. All departments are currently working on the scene.
“Police officers of the Regional Transport Inspectorate in Bratislava are currently diverting road traffic in the direction of Malacky along road no. I/2 (old road). In connection with the situation that has arisen, the said section of the highway will be closed for a long time,” the police said on the social network.

“At the moment, 28 members of the HaZZ from Malace and Bratislava are working at the scene of the incident, providing pre-medical first aid to injured persons and freeing trapped persons from the crashed bus,” the fire department reported on the social network. “According to current information, 37 passengers suffered injuries of varying extent. We will gradually update the information on the number of injured,” the firemen added.
According to the information of Nové Čas, there are several people wedged in the place. “It’s a massacre, half of the bus is under the truck,” a witness to the accident told the newspaper.
