A terrorist attack took place near Ankara, at Turkey’s most important military aerospace plant. At least two men opened fire, and one of them appears to have detonated himself. Turkish authorities confirm that there are casualties, both dead and injured.

The Minister of the Interior of Turkey announced on Twitter that “a terrorist attack was committed against the aerospace industry of Turkey… Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people”, reports biziday.ro.

Videos were posted on social media showing an explosion, as well as gunshots heard before and after the incident.

Witnesses claim that there were at least two attackers, and one of them allegedly threw himself into the air, while the second opened fire on the guards.

The headquarters of TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) is located approximately 40 km from Ankara. It mainly deals with military aircraft, including drones, modified versions of the American F-16 aircraft, but also components for the F-35 stealth aircraft program.
