Tesla sees sales not growing for the first time in ten years

Tesla suffered from fiercer competition in 2024, the loss of some European subsidies and weak consumer spending in China, an important market for the company. Tesla sold 1.79 million cars last year, 1.1 percent less than in 2023. That year the number of deliveries was 1.8 million. It is also less than the more than 1.8 million units that analysts had expected. Tesla’s share on the American stock exchanges fell more than 4 percent after the electric car manufacturer announced the sales. In the final quarter of last year, Tesla sold 495,570 cars. That also did not meet the expectations of experts. In October, Tesla said it expected sales to rise slightly in 2024. However, to achieve this, the company would have had to sell almost 515,000 cars last quarter.
