Test projektora XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro

Portable projectors are a great solution. Depending on your needs, you can arrange a cinema in the living room, bedroom or garden. Modern solutions of this type offer quality often comparable to stationary projectors. In recent weeks, I had the opportunity to test such a portable projector XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro.

MoGo 3 Pro is a projector with a light (1.1 kg), almost compact cylindrical shape. It also resembles a night lamp. The round base, which also houses two speakers and a power module, is connected to the actual projector using a vertical bar or leg. When folded, the whole thing forms one relatively small cylinder that can be conveniently carried using a rope handle.

Slightly lifting the body of the projector allows you to tilt it at an angle of up to 130 degrees. To conveniently display the image on a selected surface, wall, ceiling, screen, or even on a sheet or sheet hanging in the garden. Importantly, the projector does not require any additional configuration. Thanks to ISA 2.0 (Intelligent Screen Adaptation) technology, the image is immediately automatically adjusted both in terms of trapezoidal distortions and sharpness.

This is not the end, the projector is able to bypass obstacles (within reason, of course – only gravitational lenses in the form of black holes can bend light) located between it and the screen. The projector simply moves the image projected onto the screen or wall so that it does not overlap, for example, a cabinet or other objects. MoGo 3 Pro will also independently adjust the size of the image to the screen on which it is projected, so that it does not go beyond its edges.

In my tests, these functions worked great; after positioning the projector in a selected location and projecting the image onto a selected surface, I never had to manually re-correct keystone distortion or sharpness.

The projector is powered by a built-in USB-C port from the included charger or power bank with an output power of 65 W (which is approximately the same power I use to charge my MacBook Pro). You can also purchase a special XGIMI PowerBase stand for the projector, which raises the projector to a height of 66 cm and has a built-in power bank sufficient for 2.5 hours of projection.

The projector is also equipped with a Micro HDMI connector, thanks to which you can connect, for example, a game console. Like every Google TV-based device, it supports Google Cast and DLNA. The projector operates like a typical smart TV. The set includes a typical remote control to control the device and navigate through the mentioned operating system. Of course, it is worth connecting the projector to a WiFi network to be able to use the wealth of content on streaming services, including licensed Netflix, but also Apple TV, Max and others.

After connecting to the WiFi network and configuring Google TV and logging in to selected streaming services in their dedicated applications, you can start home or garden cinema screenings, which provide many experiences. XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro offers a brightness of 450 ISO lumens. The image is displayed in Full HD resolution (1080p) and with a diagonal of 40 to 200 inches (the manufacturer recommends 60 to 120 inches), which is completely sufficient for home and garden projections. The image projected by the projector reproduces 90% of the DCI-P3 color scale.

As I mentioned, the projector has two built-in speakers, each with a power of 5 W. MoGo 3 Pro also supports Dolby Audio, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus.

In addition to displaying movies, the projector can also function as an ambient lamp that synchronizes with the played music. It can also project images, e.g. of the sky, over the entire ceiling or wall after purchasing an optical filter called XGIMI Creative Optical Filter.

XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro is a great solution for everyone who wants to be able to set up a home, garden or even camping cinema, or even consider a projector instead of a normal TV. It worked well for me, turning the bedroom and living room into a cinema room.

The XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro projector is available in the Top Hi – Fi & Video Design chain of stores for PLN 2,299.
