Tetris Forever, the return of addiction

It is one of the oldest and most addictive games of all time in the video game industry. 2024 marks its return with Tetris Forever, celebrating more than 40 years of life. Come see…

This is a game that needs no introduction, having already been around for over 40 years, in other words... it has been passed down through several generations of players.

It is impressive to see the longevity of this simple game of dexterity (physical and mental) and that it manages to trigger such varied and opposing feelings in players as fun, euphoria, despair...

Tetris Forever is the game's next foray into PCs and consoles and while it doesn't arrive, news is emerging, as well as the new trailer shown below:

The game is being developed by retro studios Digital Eclipse, in partnership with the Tetris Company, with more than 15 classics from the series' history that will be available.

And what's new is the fact that many of these games will be available for the first time outside of Japan.

Among the experiences that will be available from Tetris Forever, the most nostalgic players will have the opportunity to explore the origins of the game, from 1984, with a faithful recreation of the first Tetris on the Electronika 60 computer. For tetris fans, this game will be a Must Have, certainly.

Tetris Forever will feature single and multiplayer games that include versions of Apple II, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy and Nintendo consoles in the Japanese market, the Famicom and Super Famicom.

Here is a list of some of the games available in Tetris Forever:

  • Tetrisreleased by Spectrum Holobyte in 1988 on the Apple II

On the other hand, there will also be news. Tetris Forever introduces an all-new game, Tetris Time Warp, developed by Digital Eclipse. This is a new version of the classic that allows players to “travel” through different eras of Tetris, experiencing a dynamic mix of graphics, game styles and mechanics in real time. Promise....

Tetris Forever will be released for PC (via Steam and GOG), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
