Few areas in recent years have experienced such rapid development as the production of electric cars and batteries for them. Despite the enormous progress, however, it is only very slowly that some of the superstitions are disproved. One of them is that battery electric cars nothing will last. Lifetime warranty regardless of kilometers
The extended lifetime warranty came from Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor, which owns MG, and its Thai distributor MG Sales to mark the brand’s 100th anniversary. It currently covers four MG models. Specifically, in addition to the MG4 Electric, these are the MG Magus 9, MG Magus 7 and the new MG Cyberster models.
The lifetime warranty does not only apply to the battery, but also to the motor. At the same time, it is not limited by the number of kilometers driven. There is one more fact that cannot be neglected, which makes these models very attractive used cars. The warranty is fully transferable when the car is sold. At the same time, current owners will be pleased that the offer is not only valid for newly delivered cars, but also for those already sold.

Unique battery
SAIC Motor could afford to give a lifetime warranty also because all four models use state-of-the-art batteries that the automaker produces itself. Their cells are stored horizontally instead of the usual vertical position in the battery. This solution not only saves space, but also improves ventilation, which ultimately leads to better efficiency of the electric car and thus a better driving experience.
We want a warranty too
We can only hope that the extended warranty promotion will not remain geographically limited only to Thailand and will also reach other markets where the brand operates. Out of the four models with a lifetime warranty, only the MG4 Electric is currently sold in the Czech Republic, but the sporty MG Cyberster should also arrive on our market in the future. If the domestic distributor also offered a lifetime warranty, we believe that it would convince a number of potential customers who are hesitant today.
