Awami League general secretary and former bridge minister Obaidul Quader’s elder brother Mirza Quader’s brother-in-law AKM Siraj Ullah has been arrested by the police.
He was arrested from Greenview residential area under Bayezid Bostami police station on Wednesday (November 27) around 8:30 pm.
The arrested AKM Siraj Ullah is the president of Narottampur Union Awami League of Kabirhat police station of Noakhali district and former chairman of Narottampur Union Parishad.
According to the police, Siraj Ullah is known as a close associate of Awami League general secretary and former bridge minister Obaidul Quader. He is accused in five cases including murder.
City Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz said that Siraj Ullah, brother-in-law of former bridge minister Obaidul Quader’s elder brother, was arrested by Bayezid police station after receiving secret information. He has been handed over to Kabirhat police station in Noakhali.
