“That which killed our children remains free to kill again”

“What killed” the 57 people in Tempe “remains free to kill again and again. Well, never again…”, Maria Karystianou said excitedly from the stage in Kallimarmaro, where the great memorial concert for the victims of the railway tragedy that shook Panhellenic was held.

A “big thank you” for “embracing this event with so much love,” she said in her short speech, addressing the thousands of citizens who attended on Friday, October 11, from the early afternoon. He also thanked the artists and those who worked for this event.

At the same time, he also said a “resounding no”, stressing that “we do not forget, we will never forget”. “We are all now one… we have the same goal,” “what killed” the 57 in Tempe “remains free to kill again and again. Well, never again…” “We are here strong and determined. All of Greece is singing so loudly that we can surely be heard in the heavens. All of Greece is an open embrace for the bereaved…

Until vindication and even beyond.”

Her full speech:

«A big thank you for embracing this event with so much love. And a resounding no, we do not forget we will never forget. We are all now one, we have the same goal, the same wish, desire. And how could it be different since what killed our own children remains free to kill again and again. Well, never again.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and up to the heavens for being by our side and we especially thank the artists and those who worked hard, volunteered and passionately for this concert dedicated to our dearly loved ones who we miss so much.

But also all of us who are here strong and determined. Today all of Greece is singing so loudly that we can surely be heard in the heavens. Today all of Greece is an open embrace for our bereaved. It will always be open until vindication and beyond, thank you».

“I’ll pick you up baby when I get there”

Earlier, Phoebus Delivorias sang “Tonight I’m with you”, a song he – as he said – wrote on Thursday night and dedicated to the victims of the Tempi tragedy.

“Good evening, we are all here. From February 2023 the need for justice flows from our eyes. Everything we sing today is dedicated to the parents and relatives who are moving forward in complete judicial darkness to see where the responsibility is hidden.”
