That’s how it tastes and then it’s released

For the twenty-first year in a row, Blossa is releasing a new mulled flavor before Christmas.

This year’s Blossa is a white fortified mulled wine that takes inspiration from the city of Edinburgh in Scotland.

On the bottle, the taste is described as “mulled spices combine with a smoky Scotch whiskey and a note of seaweed inspired by the enigmatic history of Loch Ness”.

For the drink recommend Flare “something salty rather than sweet, such as nuts” as a snack.

The mulled wine has a strength of 15 percent.

The Nyheter24 editorial office have tried the new flavor – and the reactions are mixed to say the least.

The editors had to rate the mulled wine on a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is very good and 1 is downright disgusting.

– I really appreciate the notes of barrel aging that marry well with the sweet flavors. In combination with the classic mulled flavors, it becomes an excellent combo. If I could wish, the mulled flavor could have come out a bit more, says one of the tasting panel, and continues:

– It will definitely be presented both once and twice in December.

Another is not nearly as pleased.

– In a way, I’m glad that the taste of seaweed is not more obvious, because it would NOT have fallen on my lips. But I think it both smells and tastes like goat cheese, and almost a bit like manure, and it’s really not good in mulled wine either. No, no height at all – you can do better, Blossa!

“If you like whiskey. WHICH. IS. HOT.”

Two others in the taste panel match:

– Tastes like any other light mulled wine. Too bad it didn’t taste as good as the bottle was nice. 3 out of 5, because mulled wine is mulled wine.

– It tastes very much like smoky whiskey. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. If you like whiskey. AS. IS. HOT.

“Run to the system!”

Elsewhere in the taste panel, however, Blossa 24 is praised.

– Run to the system! God, it’s so good. Well-balanced mulled wine with a hint of whiskey. Success: 5/5, says one.

– Super good and nuanced taste. It feels like a mulled wine that many will buy again as it both has pressure in it but at the same time is a little smooth on the palate! Don’t be fooled by the fact that it should have a lot of salt and nothing in it, because there the thoughts wander off to the fact that it should taste like broth. This mulled wine is sweet but perfectly sweet, says another.

In total, Blossa 24 receives a rating of just over 3 out of 5 by the Nyheter24 editors.
