That’s why Dragomir Mrsic says “arrivederci”

It was in 2021 that “De Verraders” premiered on Dutch RTL 4. The format, which is largely inspired by the social party game “Mafia”, has since taken its place in television tables around the world.

In Denmark the program goes under the name “Forræder”, in France under the title “France Les Traîtres” and since 2023 there is also a Swedish version: “Frrädarna” on TV4.

The first season, which premiered last fall, was a success and, to say the least, aroused interest in the TV sofas at home. According to MMSwhich measures and compiles statistics on viewing patterns, the program was then watched by between 500,000 and 650,000 viewers each week.

When the 2023 edition of “The Traitors” finished, with Katia Mosally as winners, many were therefore curious as to whether there would be another season.

In January of this year, TV4 could finally confirm that the program would return to the television box.

“It is true that work is well underway for a second season of Traitors,” said the show’s executive producer Sarah Johanssonaccording to TV4 when.

New season of The Traitors starts on TV4

And now it’s finally time for a second season of the entertainment program, which is broadcast on Fridays at 20.00 on TV4 and TV4 Play.

Under the leadership of Dragomir Mrsic must 20 new participants take their place at Häringe castle outside Stockholm to settle the winnings. In the social and psychological game, some participants are designated as traitors, while others are loyal. The former must do everything in their power not to be revealed, while at the same time “murdering” the others.

In each program, the participants gather at the round table to put each other against the wall and finally, through a vote, single out a person they believe to be a traitor.

This person then gets to say thank you and announce whether the gang was right or wrong.

Dragomir Mrsic: That’s why I say “arrivederci”

Devoted viewers must have noticed how Dragomir Mrsic, who made his hosting debut on “The Traitors,” uses a recurring phrase on the show: “arrivederci,” which is Italian for “until we meet again.”

So how is it that this has become the actor’s now iconic saying? News24 Mrs. asked.

– The producer Jock Brobeckwho wanted me in the program already when they bought into the concept, thought I would be a perfect fit as program host and when everything was ready and we sat and scouted, he said: “what do you think about saying arrivederci?”.

– I thought about it, but I trust him because this man is very sharp, knows what he’s doing and is an incredibly skilled producer. He knows what fits, so I tested and it became “arrivederci” with the entire Swedish people.

Nowadays, it is not unusual for people whom the presenter comes across on a daily basis to use that particular phrase.

– Once upon a time there was always a scene from “Snabba cash”, where me and Joel (Cheek maneds. note) is standing in a stairwell and I say: “In this business everyone thinks of themselves and the cash first, you should do that too”. I always had to say that, but now it’s instead: “please, can’t you say arrivederci?”, Mrsic tells Nyheter24 with a laugh.

– But it’s super fun when something sticks like that. Then you have reached the point, he concludes.
