“Only with an open mind, we can go forward, but also go back when we want to change something that was not good. The ESG festival was supported by numerous companies, establishments and institutions, and we all made efforts to understand what we can do. Today we present the 12th report on sustainable development, which is Hemofarm’s testimony on the ESG journey. We started with small steps, and today we can boast of many initiatives within each segment of sustainability,” said Zeliger.

Ronald Zeliger also pointed out that the location where the ESG festival is held is the right place to start the education of young people who are our future.

“It is a great privilege to be here among students, and we are proud that the University of Belgrade is our partner in this project. This is neither the beginning nor the culmination of all events related to sustainability, this is just one step on our journey,” emphasizes Zeliger.

Community health protection

Rector of the University of Belgrade, prof. dr. Vladan Đokić, thanked that this exhibition, along with the accompanying panels and lectures of the ESG festival, is held in the heart of the Student City, where four to five thousand students have the opportunity to see modern technologies and approaches to sustainability and thus shape their future professional path.

“On behalf of the University of Belgrade, I thank the Hemofarm company for recognizing us as a partner in a project that brings students and the general public closer to the importance of sustainable development and health preservation. Hemofarm’s exhibition, realized in modern interactive pavilions made of recycled containers, shows how sustainability can be achieved through the reuse of materials and innovations. I would like to point out that one of the segments of this project indicates the significance and importance of prevention, which should encourage the young generation to understand that we are all managers of our own health, as well as that prevention plays a key role in protecting the health of the community. The company Hemofarm already provides scholarships and employs many students from our faculties, and many graduated students find their place precisely in Hemofarm, where they are offered the opportunity for professional development,” Đokić pointed out.

During the first three days of the ESG festival, 12 hours of programs were organized on nine panels and three round tables, which were a great platform for open and constructive dialogue. More than 65 experts from 50 companies, institutions and organizations shared opinions and professional perspectives, providing visitors with insights into the practical knowledge of sustainable development.

“In 2023, compared to 2022, we recorded about ten percent higher production, while reducing the consumption of energy, water and resources. I am also proud that 55 percent of the total number of employees work in our company, while 66 percent are in managerial positions,” said Zeliger.
