It was announced on the 27th that the winter culture and arts festival ‘2025 Yangju Snowflake Festival’ will open. The festival, now in its 12th year, is a place for snow and art where you can have fun sledding in the great outdoors and admire various sculptures.
The Yangju Snowflake Festival, which opened on December 27th and will be held in the clean natural ‘Songchu Art Valley’ area of Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, will run until February 9th next year.
It is easily accessible and can be reached in just an hour from Gwanghwamun, Seoul, making it perfect for spending the weekend with family and friends. It is clean snow made from clean natural water from the Songchu Valley, so even families with children can enjoy it with confidence.
The ‘lined snow sledding’ on the longest slope (200m) in the metropolitan area is the pride of the Yangju Snow Festival. This is a popular adventure that up to 10 people can ride at the same time, making it even more special because it can only be enjoyed here. It is perfect for a winter outing for the whole family as it is equipped with ‘snowflake sledding’ and ‘toddler-only snow sledding’ for children. There is also a lift facility that automatically transports the sled, so you can enjoy the pleasure of sledding safely and comfortably. ‘Snow Mountain’, where you can admire over 500 different outdoor sculptures installed throughout the festival site and enjoy playing in the snow with a play shovel, is also an art experience that should not be missed.
There will also be a place for gourmet food to enjoy along with the festival. There are a variety of food trucks offering over 20 different menus, convenient stores, and even a food court, so you can visit with ease. As the cumulative number of visitors exceeded 500,000 by last year, convenience facilities were also improved so that many customers could fully enjoy the festival.
Parking spaces have also been significantly increased to accommodate the increasing number of visitors every year. Public transportation accessibility has also improved thanks to the new Yangju No. 37 bus that can be reached in front of the festival site this year.
The entrance fee to the sledding range is 15,000 won on weekdays and 18,000 won on weekends for both children and adults. Discounts are provided to Yangju citizens, groups (20 people or more), and the disabled. Operating hours are from 10 am to 5 pm every day.
