In her speech at the opening of the Royal Charity Concert on Friday, Her Majesty Margareta said:

“It is a great joy let’s be together tonight at the 15th edition of the Royal Charity Concert, an event where we celebrate talent and generosity.

Romania needs art, and together we support young talented musicians and visual artists, offering them scholarships, mentoring and promotion. The Young Talents Scholarship was a chance for many artists to follow their dream, to develop on the path of art, receiving the confidence that what they do has value and the motivation to seek excellence.

440 scholarships have been awarded, from 2008 until today. More than 2 million Euros were invested in their support. Tinere Talente became a country project, which gave courage and voice to a new generation of artists.

Nowadays, many of the fellows have become known on the international scene, in famous galleries and museums. They put Romania on the cultural map of the world.

The 6 soloists on stage tonight are 6 success stories – Izabela, Cadmiel, Mircea, Paul, Mihai and Constantin. We are proud that their artistic destiny has come true! By grace, effort and boldness. But also through the mentors who guided their steps and the generous people who support the Young Talent scholarships.”

Tiberiu Soare, conductor for the fifth time of the Royal Concert, declared: “Last night we set out to present to the public an artistic act of the highest quality. Music at the highest possible standards, based exclusively on the talent of the new generation, with the support of the orchestra also made up of students of the Bucharest National University of Music. The soloists of the concert are former scholarship recipients of the Tinere Talente program. They highlighted the results of this project over the years. We wanted to impress from an artistic point of view, to convince from a social point of view, about the valuable support that certain people can bring to young artists at the beginning of their journey. I hope that the audience present in the Athenaeum hall became aware of what happens when you invest in people, what impact such a program can have, what results it can lead to.”

In the rotunda of the Romanian Athenaeum, the guests could admire the exhibition The Passions and Concerns of the Royal Family made by the young visual artists, scholarship holders of the 2024 edition, under the guidance of the mentor univ. Dr. Ion Anghel, during the period Interdisciplinary creative camps since August of this year.

Over the years, the Young Talents program has awarded 440 scholarships and supported more than 300 young musicians and visual artists from families with limited resources by providing them with scholarships, mentorship and professional training opportunities. The scholarships are not just about financial support, but also provide access to mentoring sessions and masterclasses by established musicians, invitations to competitions, participation in exhibitions and many other resources that enable the scholarship holders to reach their full potential. The national selection for the new edition of the Young Talent scholarships takes place until November 10, 2024.

The Royal Charity Concert is supported by a series of sponsors and business partners, with whom the Royal Margareta Foundation of Romania contributes to the development of Romanian culture and art. These partnerships continue to be essential for supporting young talents and for consolidating Romania’s cultural heritage.

“We are extremely grateful both to the sponsors who are always with us, and to the music and art lovers who were present at the Royal Charity Concert. The amount raised at the concert will allow us to support 30 new talented young people to continue their studies and develop as artists. Their support does not mean only financial aid, but an essential contribution to the future of Romanian culture”he specified Mugurel Mărgărit, Executive Director of the Royal Margaret Foundation of Romania.

In the 17 years of Young Talentsthe Foundation managed to collect over 2 million Euros to ensure the continuity of the most important cultural support program for young people in Romania.
