Danny Boyle’s 2002 horror thriller 28 Days Later (28 Days Later) was under a rock for years, and the uproar was not small. For a long time, viewing was only possible on DVD or by less legal means. The film, which became a classic of the zombie genre at the end of last year, finally came to digital distribution in the United States, for example, and soon the same will happen in Finland as well.
SF Anytimen according to 28 Days Later will be released in digital rental and sales versions on Tuesday, January 21.
The timing couldn’t be better, because the film series will get a long-awaited new sequel in the summer, when 28 years later it will arrive in Finnish cinemas on June 27. 28 Weeks Later (28 Weeks Later, 2007), which takes place between “Days” and “Years”, can be found streaming on Disney+.
The plot description of the movie 28 days later reads as follows:
“As a result of an attack by animal activists, a virus is released from a British research unit that sends its bearer into a permanent state of rage. It is impossible to isolate the virus and it spreads worldwide in an instant. 28 days later, a small group of survivors are trapped in London, desperately fighting against those infected with the virus. While fighting for their survival, the survivors discover that the most dangerous enemy is not the virus, but the other survivors.”
In addition to Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy, the film stars Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston, Brendan Gleeson and Megan Burns.
