The 2024 incentives for petrol, diesel, LPG and hybrid cars are over

The money intended for incentives 2024 for petrol, diesel, LPG and hybrid cars they are finished. The state Ecobonus portal itself tells us this, reporting a residual fund of just over 100,000 euros intended for the purchase, with scrapping, of a car included in the emissions range 61-135 g/km of CO2.

This means that they can still get the state discount of up to 3,000 euros just over 30 carsa number that decreases by the minute.

4 months for petrol engines versus 9 hours for electric ones

To exhaust all the 276.6 million euros of public funds destined for the 61-135 g/km range, typically that of petrol, diesel, LPG and mild and full hybrid cars, it took just under four months, for accuracy 150 days.

A rather long time, considering that these are the “easiest” incentives for Italian motorists who still seem reluctant to buy electric and plug-in hybrid cars, at 4% and 3.3% of the market respectively in the first nine months of 2024.

However, the 2024 funds for electric cars with 0-20 g/km of CO2 (205 million euros) ran out much faster and, thanks to the six-month wait, were “burned” in 9 hours in a sort of over-announced click day.

Incentives remaining only for plug-in hybrids

To date, there are therefore only funds left to purchase plug-in hybrid cars, i.e. those with CO2 emissions in the 21-60 g/km range which still have 80.9 million euros available for the Ecobonus.
