The twenty-seventh year of the Werner von Siemens Award for students, educators and young scientists from technical and natural sciences has been announced. The Werner von Siemens Prize honors young talents whose innovative approach and discoveries have the potential to bring progress in key areas of industry, technology and other fields. At the same time, he does not forget the pedagogical work, which often stands in the background, but is extremely important and deserves recognition.
Candidates can apply through the website www.cenasiemens.cz until November 30, 2024.
The twenty-seventh year will distribute one million crowns in seven categories. In the categories of the best thesis and dissertation, along with the students, the supervisors/tutors will also receive awards and financial rewards. The financial rewards that Siemens distributed among 470 winning students, scientists and teachers in the past 26 years amounted to 16.4 million crowns.

- prof. Ing. Stanislav Mišák, Ph.D. (director, Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies CEET, VŠB-TUO) – Best graduate thesis (diploma/dissertation) dealing with smart infrastructure and energy
In the previous year of the competition, the Czech University of Technology in Prague received the most awards (6 awards), followed by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (5 awards) and the University of Technology in Brno (3 awards), Palacky University in Olomouc and Masaryk University (2 awards each). Charles University and University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (1 award each).
This year, the general public can also participate in the nominations – candidates and their work can be nominated via the website www.cenasiemens.cz. If the nominated candidate wins, the nominator will receive a bonus of CZK 10,000.
