Take pictures without any fuss, make money riding bikes, rob a house and talk to your cat. These are the best Android apps and games of the week.
These are the best apps and games of week 46
It’s time again to look back on this week and which apps and games were in the news. We list our favorite new games for you and let you know which apps in the Play Store are definitely worth downloading. You can read all about that in this edition of the best Android apps and games of the week.
1. Zerocam
Zerocam is a camera app that focuses on taking photos, without distractions. There are no filters, you can’t zoom or change lenses. There is only a preview, a shutter button and – with a free subscription – you can take a maximum of five photos per day. These photos are then not edited, so that you focus on the most important thing: what is in the photo.
2. The Rise of the Golden Idol
Are you ready for challenging puzzles and bloody mysteries? Then we recommend The Rise of the Golden Idol. The game has a very cool style and takes you into the story of a detective in a world full of murder and betrayal. Can you find the perpetrators?
The Rise of the Golden Idol can now be downloaded from the Play Store. Keep in mind that the game is only free for Netflix subscribers. You can download the game, but you must log in with your Netflix account in advance.
3. Imatra
Attention cyclists with a Garmin. The smartwatch manufacturer joins forces with Imatra. The app gives you digital money for the kilometers you cycled. While completing your route, you earn so-called ‘Imatra coins’. And from now on you can also exchange your rides with your Garmin smartwatch or bike computer.
The Imatra coin is of course not a real currency and rest assured, it is not an unreliable cryptocurrency either. With the coins you simply get a discount in the Imatra webshop. A good way for the company to score users, because why wouldn’t you save money if you’re going to cycle anyway? And a nice discount for you.
4. Robbery Bob 2
Can you work inconspicuously? Then challenge yourself to get the biggest loot in Robbery Bob 2. The game has been available for a while, but was recently updated. The game is packed with challenging levels in which you have to act as a burglar without being seen.
Make sure you stay out of sight of the residents, know where they are and don’t let the security guard and his watchdogs catch you. After all, one wrong step is enough to have to run. And then say goodbye to the loot.
5. MeowTalk
Always wanted to know what your cat is trying to say to you? Then take a look at MeowTalk. The app has been around for a while, but should only get better over time. Users train the language model behind the app itself and according to the developers, around a billion meow recordings have now been analyzed.
By recording your cat’s sounds in a situation where it is clear what it wants – such as eating or going outside – you can add that meaning to the app’s database.
With this knowledge you can identify unknown sounds from your cat, such as ‘I am irritated’ or ‘give me food’. Experts do not yet agree on whether the app is so reliable. We think it’s funny.
