It is a cult film which could be offered a sequel if the desire of the emblematic Samuel L. Jackson were to be heard. Indeed, the actor has not hidden his interest in returning to the screen to offer a sequel to this film released almost 30 years ago.

However, the production was still able to count on the public who made it become cult over the years. In the film script, a sequel project is planned. The idea will be mentioned in 2007 but will come to nothing.
More Samuel L. Jackson does not lose hope that a sequel will see the light of day. The actor said :
I still love Mitch Hennessy. I’d make a movie with Mitch Hennessy in a minute. Maybe the girl will grow up and want to know more about her mother and take on the role of Charly Baltimore.
Unfortunately, no follow-up plans for Goodbye forever is not under development. Samuel L. Jackson recently reunited with Renny Harlin for the film The Beast. Additionally, the 76-year-old actor is in negotiations with JJ Abrams to star in his future film which provides Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Glen Powell (Twisters) et Jenna Ortega au casting.
