Martorell experienced, last Thursday, the festival of the chestnut tree and of Halloween with various proposals. On the one hand, the City Council organized in Nau#2 of Ca n’Oliveres the Halloween Night Party with Dj Pablo and Dj GooMeeZ, attended by around 700 people, according to the Department of Culture. The Pont del Diable and Font de La Mina neighborhood associations also organized castanets throughout the afternoon of Thursday to celebrate All Saints.
The Halloween Night Party it was organized by the Culture and Youth departments of Martorell City Council. The aim was to enjoy one of the most terrifying nights of the year – as marked by the Anglo-Saxon tradition, which has made a place in the autumn festive calendar together with panels and chestnuts – to the rhythm of music .
The musical selection was the work of Dj Pablo and Dj GooMeeZ, who combined the most danceable classics with the most current and vibrant rhythms. A party aimed at young people from the age of 16, with more than 850 tickets sold online and a few more at the box office, to exceed the thousand attendees who did not stop dancing until 05:00 in the morning.
The Pont del Diable neighborhood threw a party in the gardens of Ca l’Oller from early in the afternoon. There was no shortage of grilled sweet potatoes and chestnuts, as well as children’s workshops and for whole families. “It was just the first time we celebrated the chestnut tree from the Association of Neighbors, and we are happy because quite a few families came to the workshops we held. Next year we will do it again!” emphasized Óscar Osuna, president of the neighborhood association.

And in La Mina, the neighbors also organized to celebrate a party where it became clear that the chestnut tradition and the Halloween they can coexist perfectly. “We had a wonderful chestnut tree that distributed chestnuts to everyone, and the most terrifying part was set up by a few neighbors around the streets of the neighborhood”, highlighted the president of the Font de la Mina Neighbors’ Association, Montserrat Font. Many houses were decorated for the occasion and children went around the streets of the neighborhood asking for candy.

This coming Thursday, castanada in Torrent de Llops
And this Thursday, November 7, the chestnut festival arrives in the Torrent de Llops neighborhood. The association celebrates the holiday just one week later. Marisol Solís, president of the Association of Residents of Torrent de Llops i Rodalies invites “neighbors, and all the people who want to come to the Plaça de Pere Teixiné. The chestnut tree and her helpers roast chestnuts and together we will sing and dance in the square”.
