The DANA tragedy in Valencia has once again valued the solidarity of thousands of people who have dedicated themselves to the affected towns. This is the case of volunteers who, from anywhere in Spain, have done their bit to try to return the devastated streets to normal and help families who have lost everything.
One of these volunteers who has given his all in Valencia is brother of the journalist Carme Chaparro, Xavier. The presenter has dedicated some emotional words to him on her social networks where she has narrated the solidarity work of her brother in Valencia and where she has also taken the opportunity to thank all the volunteers for their work.
Xavi and his dog Cooper have collaborated in the search for missing people
“You are going to allow me a small token of love. I can’t be more proud of my brother Xavi and of Cooper. They have been in Valencia these days, like Red Cross volunteers helping the Civil Guard in the search for bodiesto be able to give some peace to the families of the people who are still missing,” Chaparro explained.
“When they hard daysof great physical and emotional intensity, touring the beaches of Saler where we had played so much as children. I don’t know if I had ever told you that we lived in Valencia for 4 years,” he detailed.
“My brother and Cooper have trained for years with the Red Cross to achieve certification of search team for missing persons. Everything, altruistically, like so many volunteers. From here goes all my love and respect. Because, ladies and gentlemen, the world is full of good people, but monsters make more noise,” he said.
“That’s why, the other day I told you that I know very well what he does and how the Red Cross works and the anger that the wave of hoaxes about them, poured out by monsters of lies and manipulation, gives me. We have to take care of them, together.
Thanks to all the volunteers. A hug to those affected. Visca la Terreta. Us in sortireu. Com semper (“Long live la Terreta. We will go out. As always”)”, he concluded.
