A sturdy watch, but pleasant on the wrist
Like many sports smartwatches, the Amazfit Cheetah Pro is a fairly massive model (46.5 × 46.5 × 11.2 mm). But that doesn’t mean that it lacks elegance, on the contrary: its matte finishes and its titanium alloy bezel make it rather chic, and above all less “plastic” than its little sister, the classic Amazfit Cheetah. The watch is also equipped with a nylon strap with Velcro, which is quick to put on and very easily adjustable. It thus allows you to benefit from better comfort, but not only that: since you can tighten the bracelet correctly, the optical heart rate sensor, on the back of the watch, can, for example, work better.
On the screen side, the Cheetah Pro is equipped with a very beautiful 1.45 inch Amoled panel. Above all, it offers a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m², which quite simply allows you to read each data without problem, even in direct sunlight. A light sensor is also integrated. We would still have liked this good screen to be protected by sapphire glass, and not simply by Gorilla Glass, which is less scratch-resistant than the first. As for its interface, it is particularly intuitive, which is unfortunately not the case with that of the Zepp companion application, which is too busy. Special mention all the same for the AI-powered voice assistant Zepp Flow, very interesting.
A great sports watch
The Cheetah Pro being a watch designed for athletes, it obviously contains a battery of sensors linked to health and training monitoring: accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, PPG biometric sensor to measure SpO2 and heart rate… Advanced modes aimed at helping the user improve their running performance are also available, as well as a mode to create personalized workouts. In addition, 156 sports modes are integrated (including board games, strangely), which is no small thing.
On the health side, the watch can alert its user in the event of blood oxygenation levels that are too low, stress levels that are too high or an abnormally high or low heart rate. Regarding the precision of the heart rate sensor, you should know that the watch is particularly reliable. And as for the GPS, it’s also flawless.
Finally, in terms of autonomy, the watch turned off after five days and 11 hours during our test, during which we activated several settings. A correct score, considering the characteristics of the watch and in particular its high luminosity. The watch is then recharged on its dedicated magnetic base, which is also compact enough to take with you anywhere.
