- According to tradition, the best recipes from the competition will be collected in a cookbook.
The annual Tasty Memories competition kicked off on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and is up for grabs with 91 prizes for foodies eager to share their best recipes and discover new ways to turn cooking into art.
It is the only annual competition in Romania held in social media that is in search of new recipes and tries to discover what people like to cook at home, and now it has reached its fourth edition.
In the contest “Tasty Memories” from this year, named “Diversity in tastes and dishes. Christmas Rehearsal”, which runs until December 8, prizes are offered by drawing lots to encourage people to cook tasty and healthy at home, as well as prizes judged by some of the best chefs in Romania, experts and influencers in gastronomy.
“We are more and more embarrassed to say that we like to eat. The idea of taste in food is positioned in antagonism with a slender figure, with health and even with a person’s values. Nothing could be more untrue. And Amintiri Gustoase, including through the annual social media contest, campaigns for good, shared food that will invariably bring us closer to each other and let us know each other better and give us joy. Each recipe entered in the contest is a manifesto for how much time we allocate or give to our loved ones!”, declare Silvia Teodorescumanaging partner of Zaga Brand, the agency that produces the Tasty Memories podcast.
The head of the jury is chef Liviu Lambrino, and the jury also includes other big names, followed mainly by gastronomy lovers, such as Laura Laurențiu, Alina and Ciprian Muntele, Andreea Jugănaru aka Andreea Chinese Food, Daniela Niculi and Dana Burlacu Visternicu, Nicoleta Rădăcină and Corina Dima, but also anthropologists and culinary historians, such as Adriana Sohodoleanu and Cosmin Dragomir.
In addition, for the first time this year, the jury includes top HoReCa experts, such as Marius Tudosiei (Băcănia Veche), Alina Săftulescu (Kibut restaurant), Teodor Frolu (Ivan Pescar restaurant) and more.
91 prizes are up for grabs for participants in this year’s Tasty Memories competition, and the top 100 contestants will be invited to the one-day event where they will rehearse for the Christmas table with some of the most enjoyable and skilled personalities in the business Romanian gastronomy.
Every year, the “Tasty Memories” competition registers hundreds of entries, and the best recipes are collected and translated into cookbooks that represent true jewels for gastronomy enthusiasts. The most beautiful stories and recipes that have drunk us deliciously under the umbrella of “Tasty Memories” in the past years have already led to the appearance of two books: “Tasty Memories We Miss and Crave” and „Holiday month”.
