Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin is proud to have said: “With the introduction of Vanquish we have crowned the new generation of Aston Martin sports cars. Vanquish is a true benchmark in every sense, a model that fulfils our mission to create the most powerful, beautiful and exciting cars in the ultra-luxury sports car market. As such, Vanquish is the most authentic Aston Martin.”.
With a clean design and cutting-edge engineering, it sets extraordinary new standards in terms of performance, style and luxury for a new generation of brand enthusiasts.”.
Commitment to the V12
British firm Aston Martin says it has listened to the wishes of its customers and is committed to continue the dynasty of V12 engines. This is why they have developed a new block with this architecture to continue a tradition that dates back more than 25 years.
The new 5.2 V12 engine develops 835 hp and 1,000 Nm perthus becoming the engine with the highest specific power ever achieved by a V12 in Aston Martin: 160 hp/litre.
It has two turbochargers and a new function called Boost Reservewhich increases turbo pressure above normal performance to guarantee maximum performance with total instantaneousness when the driver demands it.
We also find reinforced cylinder block and connecting rods, redesigned cylinder heads, new intake and exhaust, repositioned spark plugs and new higher flow injectors, all to make it one of the best engines in the history of Aston Martin.
For the first time the V12 is combined with a gearbox ZF 8-speed.
Optimized chassis
The chassis of the new Aston Martin Vanquish uses an aluminium base and a double wishbone front suspension system, while the rear axle uses a multi-link system.
The data speak for themselves, as the chassis rigidity is a 75% superior to that of a DBS 770 Ultimate, which until now was the reference version among cars of this type.
There are wider stabilizer bars than those mounted on previous generations of this model.
The car has a wheelbase 80mm greater. Add to that the fact that the Bilstein DTX shock absorbers have been custom-designed for this car, and it certainly promises top-notch dynamics.
These adaptive dampers allow you to choose between a stiffer setting to be combined with Sport and Sport+ modes, in which The most sporty and precise touch is sought or other softer and more comfortable ones so that the car moves like a carpet on road trips.
It also has an electronic limited-slip rear differential (e-diff) integrated into the ESP which in 135 milliseconds It can switch from open to locked. It works differently depending on the driving mode selected and the type of driving we are doing.
They say it is an element that marks the character of the new car, giving it a cornering agility very outstanding.
A different design on the back
One of the most common criticisms that Aston Martin received in terms of design was that its cars were too similar to each other. That is not the case with this new Vanquish, where the long bonnet (there are 80 millimetres more between the front axle and the A-pillar) is combined with the cola comb at the rear, which in addition to reducing aerodynamic drag, also help to define a distinctive exterior appearance.
Its body is wide and forceful, with 10 millimeters more width at the rear than a DBS 770 Ultimate. The new front grille is 13% larger and helps achieve better engine cooling.
Los faros Matrix LED They feature a new illuminated signature and include the letters of the words Aston Martin on the inside of them.
The panoramic glass roof is another new feature and is part of the standard equipment. It is tinted glass that only allows 6% of the light to pass through and eliminates the need for a curtain to cover it.
In its stylized body we find the V12 badge in redhighlighting that this is not just any Aston, but one that is fitted with the most prestigious engines in history.
The door handles flush that fold out when opened, frameless mirrors and other body details emphasise the car’s thoughtful design.
The rear end is a sight to behold, with the Kamm tail forming the boot lid. It is combined with wide, powerful tracks and LED lights that are somewhat reminiscent of the Valkyrie.
The stainless steel exhaust system has four outlets, although a dual exhaust system is available as an option. in titanium that reduces weight by 10.5 kilos and improves the sound.
Two-seater interior
A two-seater Super GT. This is how Aston Martin defines the interior of the Vanquish. Compared to previous generation models, we find in this one a lower center console, which gives the passenger compartment greater space and spaciousness.
The dashboard is covered in a chrome profile that replaces the previously fashionable contrasting colour stitching, giving it a more luxurious and distinguished touch.
The arrival of screens does not eliminate physical controls completely, which is appreciated in a car of this segment. In the centre of the console we find the most commonly used switches and buttons to customize the car to our liking.
What does disappear is the analog clock panel that gives way to a screen 10.25 inch TFTwhich is combined with another of the same size and touch operation in the center of the dashboard.
The latter is used to control the air conditioning and infotainment system, although some external physical controls are reflected on the screen and can be controlled from cold, metallic-touch controls, which aim to reinforce the feeling of quality and solidity of the whole.
The car start button is located in the center and backlit. On its outer contour it has a driving mode selector control that is made of machined aluminum.
Without a doubt a great way to continue giving life to the Aston Martin Vanquisha car that will be produced in limited numbers (although they have not specified how they will limit it) and whose first deliveries to customers will begin in the last quarter of this year 2024.
