The Municipality of Athens, with the participation of the citizens, “lit up the city with wishes” yesterday Tuesday, the eve of the Christmasfor the “Night of Wishes” in Kotzia Square.
A large number of citizens of all ages, as well as visitors, responded yesterday afternoon to the call of the mayor Haris Doukas, to send their wishes from there.

The timeless messages of hope and peace and the 1,500 biodegradable paper lanterns were accompanied by festive music selections and merriment on the part of those who participated.

“We filled the decorated Kotzia square with light and music. Hundreds of lanterns traveled our wishes in the sky of Athens. And next year with good health”, said, among other things Harry Doukas.
According to the municipality of Athens, the paper lanterns that were distributed – for free – to the public for the “Night of Wishes” are biodegradable.
