However, it seems that the Q8 e-tron will get a successor, but no further details about this upcoming electric model have been released. We don’t know if it will be built on the existing SSP platform, on which the new-generation Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron are based, or if it will use the Volkswagen Group’s upcoming PPE platform.

The Audi factory in Brussels will be closed in February 2025

Due to poor sales figures for the Audi Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron, but also due to the logistical challenges involved in maintaining operations at the Brussels plant, it will be closed in February of this year future.

Besides the fact that it produces cars that are not profitable for Audi, it is the fact that it is located very close to the city center. This is an obstacle to the factory update. In addition, operational and logistics costs are very high given the location of the factory.

Audi looked for ways to save the factory in Belgium. The company talked to 26 potential investors who expressed interest in the plant, but according to the automaker, none of them presented a sustainable business plan.

The plant responsible for the production of the Q8 e-tron electric SUV will close its doors on February 28, 2025.
