It plans to eliminate 3,500 jobs by the end of 2027.
The downsizing will hit the multi-domain computer solutions division, as demand for intelligent driving support systems and solutions is weak.
The German company is preparing to cut another 750 jobs at its Hildesheim plant by 2032, and 600 people will be fired by the end of 2026.
Bosch also announced that it will also downsize its management department at the Schwaebisch Gmuend plant near Stuttgart, sending 1,300 workers from there between 2027 and 2030.
According to Bosch’s statement, the automotive industry is suffering from significant excess capacity, and competition and price pressure have intensified.
While it has been known for months that the Volkswagen Group is planning to close plants in Germany, Ford announced on Wednesday that it will lay off 4,000 people in Europe, about 14 percent of its local workforce.
